How to set up Rent Agent: account, filter and Telegram

1. Create an account

Register with email, Google or Telegram. With email you receive a message; follow the instructions in it to confirm the address. Until the address is confirmed, signing in with that email does not work.

2. Add a filter on the Agent page

Open “Agent” in the menu and press “New filter”. Give the filter a name and pick at least one source (portal): that is the only required field.

Then narrow the search if you want to: listing type, price from and to, area from and to, bedrooms from, cities, municipalities, property types, target groups, energy label, allocation model, and new build. A field you leave empty does not restrict the search. Several values in one field mean “any of them”; different fields must all match.

How matching works

The agent checks every new listing from the portals you selected against your active filters. A new filter only looks at listings that appear after it was created or after its criteria were last changed, so it does not resend what was already there. You get at most one notification per listing, even if several of your filters match.

If a listing does not state a detail you filter on, it is skipped. Price and area are the exceptions: a missing value still passes.

3. Link Telegram

In the Telegram panel on the Agent page press “Link Telegram”. A t.me link opens the bot and links your chat; the code is valid for 10 minutes. If the link does not open, send the bot the code shown. The panel shows LINKED when it worked.

The same panel has “Pause notifications”: messages stop, the filters stay.

What a message contains

At the top you see what decides whether to apply: the allocation model, the city, the conditions of the home, the area, the bedrooms, the price and how many people have already responded. Below come the address, the type of home, the category and the link to the original listing. You apply on the portal itself.

Changing and switching off

In the list of filters you can switch a filter on or off, edit it or delete it. A filter that is switched off sends nothing.
